Trading Booze for Sweets?
Hello,
I have a ton of booze which is useless to me, want to complete sweet tooth. Which part of the forum should I got a request like that?
I have the following in total:
19 Firewaters - 5 x 19 = 95
4 Krytan Brandy - 5 x 4 = 20
53 Spiked Eggnogs - 5 x 53 = 265
1 Keg of Aged Hunter's Ale - 5 x 50 = 250
77 Eggnogs
57 Witch's Brew
17 Bottles of Rice Win
63 Vials of Absinthe
8 Aged Hunter's Ales
10 Hard Apple Ciders
Total = 862 points
So looking to trade 862 booze minutes for 862 points of sweets. So where on the forum should I post my request?

Buy.
But odds are you won't get 1:1 as booze is cheap atm.

Yep, 2 alcohol minutes for one sweet point is what you'll likely have to offer. Booze is going for ~80g per minute these days, with the exception being Grog (~100g/min).
Your hard apple cider would fetch more too, due to Thackeray's scavenger hunt. I've seen them selling in-game at 1k/ea, but I have no idea if people are actually paying that much. Better sell them quick, since they'll be dropping in-game again soon.

Things like this are tricky. Given the exact situation you describe, I'd say one thread in either buy or sell would work if phrased like, I want to trade this stuff I have <list> for this stuff you have <list>
Personally, I think you'd be better off making two threads.
Make a sell thread listing your booze, accepting cash OR sweets.
Make a buy thread listing the sweets you want to buy. Offer to pay in cash (if you're willing) or booze.
Leave links to the other thread at the end of each OP, and re-emphasize that you're willing to trade your booze for someone else's sweets if they're interested in that.
Be careful with the listing and the wording that you do not violate the forum rule about not prompting or accepting bids on the same item in multiple threads.
Personally, I think you're narrowing your market base both for selling booze and for acquiring sweets if you do not want to trade either for cash. Direct item swaps are nice if you can arrange them, but it seems like there will be more people looking to buy booze and sell sweets for money than will happen to need the trade you offer.
One last thing ... like others have mentioned, a 1:1 ratio for sweet points to minutes of booze may not be feasible. Last I noticed, the "going rates" were probably closer to 2 min. booze to 1 pt sweet. I haven't paid much attention to the prices for several months though, as I haven't had reason to buy or sell any of them.
Cheers & GL!
